Where these balls work

Industrial silicone balls are used inside vibrating screens, sifters and cleaning equipment. In screening duty they move against the mesh to reduce blinding and keep material flowing; in cleaning duty they provide a soft mechanical action that is unlikely to damage the parts they contact. Because they are consumable, a stable specification across repeat orders matters as much as the performance of the first sample.

Specify these five things

Diameter, with tolerance. The ball must suit the tray or deck that carries it — small enough to move freely, large enough to work the mesh.

Hardness. Hardness drives bounce and contact force. Feed type and aperture size usually decide the right range, and a trial with two or three options on the machine settles it faster than a data-sheet comparison.

Mass and density. Where inertia provides the cleaning action, mass matters as much as diameter. Change these together, not one at a time.

Media contact. Dry powder, wet slurry, oils, cleaning agents or food-contact conditions all affect which material grade can be considered and whether product-specific documentation is needed.

Running conditions. Temperature, vibration frequency, mesh type and daily running hours shape wear expectations. Stating them allows a realistic discussion instead of a generic promise.

Repeatability and identification

Agree a written reference specification — diameter with tolerance, hardness range, colour and pack weight — and check later batches against it. Colour options are often used to distinguish batches or sizes on the plant floor.

Custom sizes
